MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
No Rally in July, but we did have a great time at Jack and Marilyn Walter’s lovely home on Saturday July 12th. Our intention was to have a picnic in Jack and Marilyn’s large yard, but HOT weather drove everyone inside for air-conditioned comfort. Twenty BATs and three guests (Geary & Peggy Gaston and Roger Weakly) visited, as we caught up on happenings since our last gathering. Jack slaved over the hot grill (ribs pre-cooked by Marilyn), with Bill Hubbard on dogs and Geary on the rib-carving table. Several BAT-men helped by gabbing as the cookers and the slicer did their work, shaded by Jack’s RV shed (large enough to stick my house in). One benefit of our “assistance” was sampling the ribs (all passed our test) as they came off the grill. Everyone had more than one portion. I had to rest between trips to the food counter to let the eats settle to make more room! We give Jack and Marilyn a thumbs-up for a job well done. The food was plentiful and the company was congenial, a super way to spend a hot summer day in the south. Jim Discola described the upgrades completed at the Citronelle campground, where our September campout is happening. We have had good times at this facility in the past and based on what Jim described; we’ll have an enjoyable time at the September outing. I’ll see you there.
Happy Motorhoming, Bill Alumbaugh
